Hey all hows it goin. My name is John and I live in the chicagoland area and I have been wanting to get into detecting for a while now and I finally decided to split my rc car hobby with some detecting. I went to Cabelas and bought one of the cheaper detectors to start out with I purchased the Pine Ridge model made for Cabelas by Bounty Hunter and I am havin an absolute blast. I have gone out about 4 times in the last 3 weeks and had a chance to go out to savannah il to my sisters new house which was built in the late 1800s. Had a good day and wanted to get some pics to show you the finds. Even got my dad hooked on detecting which my mom and wife said nice work considereing I also got him into rc:laugh: Enjoy the pics. I have done a little reasearch on the jeep and I believe it is a tootsitoy brand from the 40s or 50s. All the coins came from the 70s minus the quarter which is from the 00's. If anyone recognizes the motorcycle please let me know havent found info on that yet. later

Thats a nice collection...the motorcycle looks like an Amazonas 1600...was built in the 1970 if its not that than I don't know.

hi budha24 and welcome. yeah, i think the motorcycle might be from the early 60's or so. the tootsietoy line of toys were made for many years. the jeep is from about the same time period, maybe a little later. i can easily remember having those toys when i was a kid in the 70's. great finds though! i see you also found the wheelbarrow from an old monopoly game! i recently found the hat. there's a good chance that some old coins are in your sister's yard waiting for you too. treasurefiend, a regular poster on this forum, lives in chicago too. he also has some great vids on youtube too. good luck, and hh,

you got some cool finds. i always like the old toy cars....congrats. get your wife a md to and get her dirt diggin. i do with m y husband and we have fun seeing who finds the most...

Welcome to the hobby! Sounds like you have a good spot to hit at your sister's house. Hit it again next time you go there. There might be more you missed. Nice assortment of stuff. I like the jeep. I think that big thing is part of a dado blade set for a table saw. The set comes with three of them that fit between two round blades for dado cuts in wood.

Hey all thanx for the posts I am defiantely planning on doin some more detectin at my sisters house. We only had a little time on account that all the family was over. Also my detector is pretty basic so we didnt focus on any of the weaker hits to cut down on dig time and we hit the higher traffic areas deck, porch and walkways. Cant wait to see what else awaits next time. Thanx for all the info I have received also about the id of some of the finds. I thought that blade was an old weed wacker blade as well but after i hear dado blade I was sure thats where I have seen one that shape. I will post pics again with any other finds.
