I've been using my At Pro quite a bit lately in both fresh and salt water. I'm pretty convinced that the problems it was having before were relating the coil wire connection at the main unit. Keep it tight and well sealed and no problems.
The other day I was out at the beach and one of the arm cup sides broke off. So for hunting the following day I borrowed the cup off my whites M6 so I could use it. When I got home I called Garrett and told them what happened the person on the other end said "no problem we'll have a new arm cup out to you right away". I have to say they have great service!
