Will this detector block hot rocks? And will it get rid of iron or at least block more targets? I got a fisher gold bug se and i spend so much time digging junk. It is fun but just wan'ted to maybe up grade. What coils are completle water proof, and what are some user specs of this machine. Like how deep will it go on a gram nugget, how small of a peice will it get ect.
I think detecting at a river, this machine will be perfect for either winter, or summer sniping in the river. Any feed back would be great thanks Jess. :detecting:

Jess,

The Infinum will block hot rocks. I work a river that is full of them, my AT Gold still picks them up but the Infinium will not. When I work this river I will bring both as the AT Gold has better discrimination but gets the hot rocks, the Infinium blocks the hot rocks but of course it picks up more junk. They have specific coils that are waterproof, but the non rated coils have been used in the water up to 3 feet deep by me without issue. Sorry I do not have a the info on the gold nugget, but if you do a post search I am sure there have been some post about nugget size.

No I have not spent enough time with my AT Gold to see what I could do to eliminate the hot rocks but you can eliminate the nails and it is waterproof. Having both machines the AT Gold is super light and easy to use, you may want to consider a AT Gold also.

I concur with Black Davy - I've had ironstone/ Hematites completly ignored on most & the Lobo (vlf) screaming at them in any mode. Jess , there are a couple long time regulars here that give the Nugget size breakdowns if U look thru the Infinium Classroom index right here - pretty recently as well. Black Davy , which are the Non-Rated coils , please ? Thanks , Ken~Digs

Ken, Jess,

3"x7" is the non rated coil I have used in the water, the 5"x10" is the other non rated coil.

I need to take back what I said some on the AT Gold and Hot Rocks, because you can ground balance the unit to different ground minerizations, I believe you can take a hot rock and ground balance over it and take it out of the picture.

Hi Black Davy - i kinda suspected it was those 2 DD's , but allz i've heard of is the Whites V_Rated (whatever that means. so what does it mean to the 2 DD Inf. API Coils , exactly ? Thanks , Ken

Ken,

I don't really know and really using the non rated coils in the water is my chioce and if it crapped out it would be my fault. All I can say I have used it in water and it still works.
