Just unboxed my X 70

Moved from a Fisher to Minelab. Some one help me get started.
What would you suggest me doing my first time out? I have parks here and think I will spend a little time in the chips and grassy areas. What about programs?
I am going to take this slowly and learn this machine, with the help of all you pros on the forum!

1. Don't worry about prospecting mode.
2. Set sensitivity at about 50%.
3. Auto noise cancel.
4. Use factory default Pattern 1 for now.
5. Use GB Tracking for now.


If a particular trash item is bothersome, wave item in front of coil with numerical ID displayed, push Accept/Reject button to notch out.

Good for you, Nightwind. Bill's advice and your approach is the best policy. Even though the X70 is considered a very easy Minelab to learn, which it is, it is still a Minelab that offers lots of options and can create some confusion. I speak from experience; but with great support and suggestions from my dealer, Chuck in Denver CO, the learning curve has been lessened.

Good Luck & keep us posted on your ventures with the X70.
