Just swung a deal for a Beach Hunter ID................

I know this isn't the water hunting forum but curious if anyone here has used one. I'm very excited and can't wait to hit the lakes and beaches. Just like to hear all the comments while I'm waiting for it to arrive.

Can the Beach Hunter ID be tweeked at the factory to give it more power (depth)?

It's not a PI detector.

It's a water version of a basic DFX. Well thats a bit out of focus. The basic circuitry is the same as what they designed the DFX on.:super:

It started life as a Minelab 3 frequency design that Minelab sold to Whites. White's changed it over to a 2 frequency unit, and came out with the BeachHunter ID.

It's had a little bad press because the coil floats, and it's not the hottest performer in discriminate mode, but it can ID in the all metal mode, and its not all that bad in that mode. Overall it's not a bad choice, and it will do its owner well.

No disrespect, but why would you be looking for modifications on a detector that you don't know how or what the performance will be like ? To answer your question as best as I know, they are no such modifications.
