Hello everyone just wanted to say hi. I'm from the Ohio area. I just started today Sunday with my BH tracker IV the wife gave it to me for my birthday which was this past Wed. Always wanted one since I was a kid but never got one. Hurray for me LOL. Spent about 2 hours out in the back yard found a lot of trash but found some interesting stuff nothing of value though but I will get there. Spent some time on this site this morning and tried to learn some things then I went out. I just registered so hope to learn more from all you experienced treasure hunters out there.

There are quite a few with Tracker IVs here on this forum...For an inexpensive detector, it sure seems to work well...keep your DISC knob at or below the 9 o'clock position, and only turn your SENS up as far as you can without getting constant false signals...dig ALL repeatable signals (signals that stay the same after 4-6 passes of the coil over it). Learn to "X" your targets to better pin point them. This makes digging much easier....Where do you plan to do most of your hunting? On dry land, or at the beaches??? Each type of hunting takes it's own equipment and techniques...I wish you well, and I am sure we will be seeing some great finds from you soon...

hi triple sss, it's hot here in va. too. got out for two hours today, but didn't find much except an old flatbutton, a lot of sweat, and bugs. i'm waiting for it to cool down too. lord help the coins and relics when it does! hh,

One of the biggest problems I am running into now beside the heat, is the dry clay. Went out to the park by the river last Sunday for about an hour and thought I would break my wrist trying to dig up hits. Had one, it was so hard, I gave up, marked it and plan to go back after some rain. Thought I was trying to dig in to concrete.
