Yes, I'm to blame for the new banner with its photos of relics flashing at you at the top of the Metal Detecting forum. I'm the latest FindMall sponsor.
I'd posted this on the Relic Forum simply in an effort to answer some questions I'd perhaps left unaddressed in the banner copy:
I've received a lot of questions about the new relic book Relics and Reminiscing: Diary of a Lowcountry Digger. I thought I'd answer them on the forum briefly.
Yes, the book was released this year, in late January. It's brand new, not a reprint. It's the first new work on the market in the past five years. It's hardback, coffee table-sized with 133 photos that are around 98 percent color.
Also, the photos are close-ups as opposed to pictures taken at a distance. Through the years, I'd always wanted to see a book that gave me close shots so I could identify, perhaps, my own relic, have something to compare it with. And that is what I did with this book -- you have close up shots that leave little room for squinting (unless your glasses are like mine -- in need of a new prescription ).
Please do not feel that this post is a signal to stop inquiring as to the nature or content of the book. I thought if a few folk had a question, maybe others did as well.
Peruse the banner at the top of the relic or metal detecting forum, and fire away any questions you may have.
Appreciate your time and best of luck in search of that treasured relic!
