Just received the 10x5 coil

Yes, just don't use it without the cover. The base is rather soft and shows wear very easily.

It is all I use except for heavy iron then the 5"

Yes the bottom is so thin that it gets eaten up very quickly....never seen a coil so thin but again it is a great coil when you get the cover and clean it from time to time

I bought the coil but did not come with a coil. I will have to get one. I noticed the bottom is very thin. GS

What did you buy then?:surprised:

Same here. You get just about the same depth too. I love the OOR though. Wish I could hunt with it all the time.

the stock 7X11 DD is used the most in open-area/sparse-target locations on my Nokta FORS CoRe, but 90% of the time that model is wearing the small 'OOR' coil.

My Nokta FORS Gold+ sports the 5½X10 coil the most, right now for 'average' condition sites, opting for the 5" DD in trashier locations.

With the Makro Racer, the 'OOR' still gets the bulk of the search time, but for more open areas the 5½X10 DD is preferred over the stock 7X11 DD. The 5½X10 just balances a lot better and still provides ample depth and performance.

I think you will enjoy your new coil as you learn it and the best sweep speed for the conditions you hunt.
