Just received a Coin search coil and I'm very interested to see how it compares with the Tornado 800

The Coinsearch is the larger of the two coils actually 8 1/8 inch. Tornado 800 the smaller of the two 7 3/8 inch. Coil weight included scuff covers and coil cords with both of these coils. Coinsearch 22 5/8 OZ. The Tornado 800 weight 19 3/4 oz. The air test were very similar but the 800 seems to hit faster on dime size targets.

This is going to be interesting what you find out with the 2 coils. I never tried the 8 inch Tornado coil yet and missed a great deal on one on the classified, but have used the 8 inch Coinsearch coil and will keep one as long as I have a Sovereign. The 8 inch I know will go deeper than the BBS 10 I compared it with and find the 8 inch Coinsearch seems to be easier to learn a Sovereign with as the tones seems to be smoother and better sounding.
Good luck with the coinsearch and you will have to let us know how it will perform for you.
I hope you got the nylon bolt and nut plus that little spacer as it is needed to tighten it on the shaft.

Rick

Rick,I just have the standard nut and bolt that is used on the newer coils.I'll try to find a nylon spacer. Thanks again Ron.

Ron,

How's it going?

Here is an idea for making that nylon spacer, if you haven't thought of it yet.

Get a writing pen, and find one that the nut will 'freely' fit in. Then hacksaw a small piece off. You got a spacer!.

Rubber washers work well ......they come in any thickness ...... I personally never had the problem, the plastic/nylon nut and bolt work just fine for me .......I hope all goes well next trip out ........I think rather highly of that coil and have had great sucess with the coinsearch.............good luck with that coil......
