Doing a little backtracking on technology this time. Used to look at these early 90's detectors in catalogs - and could never afford one. Looking forward to running this machine to see what she will do. That is if we don't freeze up too soon.

The Bandido ll

I have 3 bandidos one which is a umax. I have found if i put a older coil on the max it will work better in trashy areas.the coils from the regular bandidos are a five pin and are a little thicker than the new coils, but they seem to work better in trashy areas.also gained 1 inch of air testing a dime.then i tried to pick up a one quarter gram of flake gold which it would not pick up in all metal or discriminate mode, but when i put the old coil on it would pick up the specks of gold.i asked tesoro what was up with this and if the older bandido coils where made better than the new ones but they inclined that the new coil might need to be recalibrated.i have used my old coil for a year now and am not planing on going back to the new umax coil.

The original Bandido has plenty of depth for the 'naily' old places that I hunt at, I'd guess about six to eight inches on a dime. I do alot of relic hunting in southern Kansas, like old abandoned farm houses, cellar holes, old church grounds, and a few ol' picnic grounds. It has found seated coins in the nails, old tokens, gold rings, etc. I don't park hunt, and to be truthfull, with all the modern aluminum trash found around town and at the old victorian houses I hunt at.......a metered detector is preferred.

But.....when I get to an old place out in the country where I can dig with a shovel, the Bandido is my primary detector! Like Monte says "Beep then Dig"
