Hello I have had my minelab explorer SE for about 3 months and I guess one of the most important things I have learned thus far is to hunt in all metal mode. It's will be a bit more noisy but the depth you get is amazing. You will hear every bit metal in the ground and at first it will be overwhelming but the payoff is good. I think it helped me advance my skill to a hole new level. So far I have pulled about 33 silvers and 3 gold in last 2 months. The only thing I reject is nails even in trashy areas and if the trash is to much I use my 5" excelerator coil. I would try to stay away for trashy areas until you get about 40 hours under your belt because it caused me lots of frustration my first month but now I love the trash spots. I have a nice starter program I got from a friend that has used a explorer for 15 years and it has been a game changer for me dug quarters at 10 inches and would be willing to share it with you. Let me know if you want it. Pm me happy hunting.

Just picked up Andy's book and it is awesome! So much information and yet easy to comprehend and I love the pictures. I am a visual learner and I am hoping with his advice I may actually find something!!

Thanks for the help!

Chuck
