I just ordered my first Minelab today. It's a near mint Etrac that was traded on a 3030. It also has a Sunray probe. I also ordered Andy Sabish's book. I started detecting in the late 1970's so I am really looking forward to it.
I am new to the E-trac and it is working well for me. I ran Explorers for several years but the E-trac is a different animal. I would recommend downloading the emulator if you haven't and read as many posts as you can. There are also lots of good videos on YouTube that can help you. When I got mine in, I was ready to assemble and start to get some actual hands on experience. Good luck with your new machine !!
My first was a Garrett Groundhog followed by a Garrett Master hunter 7 and then a Whites XLT. Currently I have a Fisher CZ5, Whites TM808, Garrett AT Pro and a Tecnetics Omega. "I hope my wife doesn't see this"
Way to go, you will love the Etrac. Two numbers and sweet tones, Nice depth and easy to use. Once I learned mine, my other detectors have gathered dust. When you get used to the Etrac, try it in TTF with no discrimination....Its about all I use.
