Hey guys and gals, Ive been hunting a while now ive been swinging a G2 for the past year and have made some nice discoveries with her. But if I was hunting near a river or lake, I was thinking there has too be good stuff im missing in there and felt like I was truly lacking. When it would start raining during a hunt I would have to head for cover and felt like I was truly lacking. So I told myself ENOUGHS ENOUGH!!! I sold the G2 and ordered a brand new AT!!! Im soo pumped and cant wait till its arrival :clapping:.. I wish I could have kept the G2 but my finances wouldn't allow it. Happy Hunting !!!!

Your situation sounds much like mine. I currently own a Fisher Gold Bug and a Minelab Eureka Gold. I will probably keep the Gold Bug, as it is more compact for stowing in my backpack, and sell the Minelab in order to afford the AT Pro. What made you you decide to choose the AT Pro over the AT Gold?

Well JLJ i actually struggled with that decision but i think with the lower Hz machines i dug a little less tiny foil targets and think they are a little deeper on ring and coin like targets. If im not happy with it i will get the AT gold later after some testing. Ive always been a Fisher/Teknetics fan but its the whole waterproof issue that always comes up. I was going to try an F44 but the lack of reviews and the whole weatherproof not waterproof thing through me off... I don't understand why Minelab, Fisher or Whites don't produce a good midpriced waterproof machine?? People say oh its a niche market but i truly believe that's very far from the truth and not every one lives near salt water.... HH friends

I hear ya, I have owned every brand under the sun. Luckily those of us "one detector at a time folks" have someone whos always looking to buy your machine or even better make a swap for what you are looking try at that time. I must say after 10 years and owning many brands one detector at a time, Iv ended my decision making here on this forum...... Whats that tell Ya but that you have made a great choice!!!!

Sometimes we gotta make sacrifices in this great hobby/sport. You wont regret purchasing the AT Pro. To get yourself familiar with the machine, I would go back to spots that you wrote off as hunted out. You will be surprised. I pounded this one ballfield for 5 years with an old Whites XLT. I gridded it in every possible direction, covered every inch of that ground. I probably went there 10 times without so much as a wheat that I wrote it off as hunted out. After I bought the AT Pro, I decided to get familiar with it at that ballfield. My 2nd hunt with the machine there yielded a 10k gold ring with an opal center stone. I hunted that ballfield off and on for a full season and literally had a fist full of silver coin by the end of the year. Good luck and look forward to seeing your finds.
