Just ordered a special detector...

Hi Everybody!

I've been thinking for months of buying a Tesoro Compadre, especially after reading Mr Tabdog's tot lot adventures on this forum.

Being a slow decider, when I finally ordered it from my local dealer, I was told they ran out of compadres AND silvers till the beginning of next year.

So, while discussing, I was presented a LASER SCOUT metal detector. Those Tesoro-made metal detectors are only available in Europe, and this is where I live...:detecting:

After reading a Field test and some users comments, I ordered it and hope to get it before this year ends.

The LASER SCOUT is special, in the way that :

-It looks like an old Cutlass

Hay Nick,

I looked up tha LASER SCOUT.

It sounds like a nice unit.

I like tha idea of tha 12 kHz system

in a Silver Sabre format.

I always wanted to try tha Cutless.

Now I want ta try tha Lazer Scout.

I hope you let us know how it does,

once you've had a chance to get used

to it.

Happy Hunting,

Tabdog

Thank you Monte and Tabdog.

I was aware that this detector closer was to a Cutlass than to the Silver.

The difference would be the frequency, I guess...Anyway, it's those 12Khz I'm interested in.

I like simple, easy to use detectors.

Is the actual silver also Cutlass-based?? (they have the same outfit and run both 10 Khz.)

Although I guess the Laser Scout will provide ED 120 disc, I'm very curious to check.

Also, I will have to decide now which other coil to buy, as I prefer small ones. So that'll be the 4" or the 5,75.

Having read that the unit is quite at easy with its stock 8" coil on iron infested sites, I might go for the 4".

Happy hunting !

Nick

Hello.

In addition to what I said here above, I could manage to find an users manual on the Internet.

It is said that the unit delivers a full range (from null) discrimination.

That would make the unit closer to the compadre than to the cutlass.

Just wonder why the manufacturer writes about "enhanced silver sabre circuitry".

Anyway, as soon as I get it, I'll let you know...

HH
