Just ordered a 10" 7.5khz coil from Richard

Went digging for a while today an an old homeplace, using the stock 9" coil on the 70. Didn't find any CW bullets today(found 4 the other day). I did find 2 complete harmonica reed plates and a bunch of old post-CW rimfire casings. Anyway, my curiosity has prompted me to get the bigger med. frequency coil for a little added coverage and depth. Should I see a difference? Thanks

As for if you'll see a difference, where are you, in a general sense? Like nearest city and state. Do you know if the area your searching is good ground or bad ground? In good ground, the 10.5 gets a little deeper. In bad ground that coil is great.

Most of the time in my area I see GB numbers from 10 to 25 and with the 10.5 DD 7.5 kHz coil I get a little more depth then I do with the stock coil. Also it will cover more ground in less time.

I'm in Virginia, and for the most part, soil is pretty good. We do have alot of red clay, which is acidic, but mineralization usually isn't too bad. Thanks!

I haven't used my machine alot yet, but I think when I have G-B'ed my machine, the number was around 42. Thanks!

Then, your real benefits will be separation and coverage. Depth increase will be be about 1/2 to 1 inch. I know because my ground GBs out at the same number.

Thanks, Cane! I really like the 70 so far. I've had alot of machines over the years, but this one seems to be the most stable-running one I've ever used.

The X-Terra-70 and the 10.5 DD MF coil is one hard combination to beat. I have found deep coins to deep CW relics with mine and use it about 90% of the time. HH TomB

Thanks, Tom. I'm told that this coil is gonna be a heavy one to swing, and that's my only concern(with arthritis). I do have a swingy-thingy, however!!

Congrats on the coil DP!! it is a known deep hitter. Shame we can not hunt today, Beale.
I don't think I'd be able to hunt today anyway, because I have that nasty old sinus infection/bronchitis stuff starting up. Thanks, Beale!
