hank68, I tried a 10x12 coil on my Silver and it did give me more depth but it didn't work well in the trash. I think if you hunt farm fields or other open areas with little trash you will like the 10x12 coil. It does change the balance of the Silver with the bigger coil, but it is still easy
to swing. Good luck with the new coil................
It arrived this morning and quickly attached it to the detector and started going over in my yard, it feels good and covers a lot of area fast depth I don't know about yet, but the pin point is easier than the stock coil, I grade it a 10 and makes the machine look better, next coil I get will be a 4" coil,HHH.
I had one (10X12) on my Silver and it made that detector a "depth demon".-------The only "negative" things I noted about it was the fact that it got heavy out there on the end of the shaft on long hunts & it could get quite noisy in some of my hunt areas.
Ok I worked it a few hours today were I've already been, I'm so impressed with combo it is fantastic,I found a pewter arrowhead pendant two dimes and a penny, the depth is great and like I said before the pin point is way better than the stock coil, seeing is believing.HHH. Silverdevil umax+10x12 concentric coil=more keepers!
I found it to be a great combo. The added weight forces you to slow down a little which helps even more. Once when the ground was too hard to dig iffy signals I cranked both knobs to max and soon hit a silver quarter at a solid 10+ inches loud and clear. I also shorten the shaft 1 notch to help offset the weight.
