For anyone out there that has used the 1266x and now uses the f75 series or another in the same category of new machines, how does the 1266 stack up for relic hunting
I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question
Well i've never used the f-75 or 1266 but have owned the 1225x1236x2 and 1270 and i think in the depth dept the 1266 might be about the same in depth in disc mode but not sure about all metal and there is quite a difference in frequencies as well the 1266 runs at 4.8khz and the f-75 i believe runs at 13khz alot more sensitive on the jewelry end of the spectrum and thats as far as it goes for me but i know one thing i'd take the 1270 over the f-75 but this is just my opinion if your all out relic hunter the 1270 would serve you well as the 1266 are very simalar with the exception of silencer and iron switch, the f-75 wish i could tell you more but the closest i've had was the omega 8000 but i had the gamma 6000 to and preferred that over the 8000 so to each there own hopefully did'nt ramble on to much with you
Well 1266 is noisy with snap crackle and pop and F75 with EMI....1266 is built like a tank and F75 is of much poorer quality which cuts the weight down...1266 is one of the best ergonomic units around with batteries under the armcup and the F75 is well.. light..1266 is old technology and has proven itself over the years to be one of the best relic units around to those have learned
its sounds and audio. F75 is more of a coin machine and those that can put up with or lessen the EMI do well with this unit...
All in all like trying to compare a 1990 chevy with a 2010 but both will get you where you want to go and the same goes for both units as well learned are both excellent units in their own right...
As far as the fellow mentioning the 1270 which replaced the 1266 they just killed the ergonomics and the control box is heavy and the unit is ill weighted on the 1270 but understand the noise cancel makes it a more comfortable unit to use...
Dan-Pa hits the nail on the head--the 1266 is one great relic "Sherman"-- built to last forever, easy to use- it snaps, cracle and pops but in between are the sweets,-the soft, mellow signals that whisper in your ears....
Got to go with JAV. 1266 is a great machine but the !1270 blows it away for relics and deep coins, and the weights no problem, Hip or chest mount it or use a SWINGY-THINGY.
well guys i've never tried a 1266 but i know the 1270 weighs a little bit more but to me i must be a odd duck then because the 1270 is very comfortable in my hands and the weight does'nt seem that heavy, i owned a garrett gtp 1350 once and that felt way heavier to me than the 1270 does but thats all right i'm not knocking it by no means, we'll see on the 1266 eventually to try!
even a tweaked out 66.......its all in what you want to DO.... but a tweaked out.... LTD in either flavor ....will hand em their Butt on a platter.....it is the SPANKER machine.....
Now you will have to know it like the back of your hand ....and listen intently.....and yes their is an adjustment period....{operator}.... plant your feet in the right spot ...or ..... have your treasure mojo ON....
AS far as build quality....... having Fixed alot of em .....[ I Strongly Disagree ]......the the 75's and T2's more especially the Ltd's.....are some of the strongest best made machine on the planet.....Bar NONE.... ergonomically... circuit wise.....etc. ..... you drag any machine behind a tractor it is going to come apart in stages .... and look like a pile of dung......better to give a little than... break A Lot ......
The information and capabilities of these machines are way beyond most detectorist abilities... to hunt .....especially all metal... cache Mode....
AS ole Bob..... Say's..... know your song well before ya start singin....most real hunters will tell you... Not to hunt Wid dem ole bounty hunters...{WINK}......
What ever.... you got.... use it.....but always...... be ready to reach OVER your head.....to higher Ground....
Mark my words......... some have had the most versatile and power full machine in the world in thier Mitts and let it go before they got.. it under their Belt...
( you are GET to the point where you do not think... about it ....it is just a part of your body ...like your right ....ARM....)
.... BOOM ... BOOM.... BOOM ...BOOM....HAW .....HAW... HAW ....HaAAW! .....Like the way she WALKS.....(wink)...Gone ah take her home with ME!
Hey great tune! but i'm sticking old school because thats what works for me and some others here, but far as spanking i'm very skeptical about that statement, now this is just my preference but digital is artificial to my ears, i can't pick out the the distinctions of the target like i can the old school fisher or otherwise i would have had the f-75 by now or what ever the case but i'm currious of what area of spanking your getting at if its everything or just depth or what, as you said in your statement become one with your machine, now your saying why did you get rid of the 1270 well because i had one off day and was hot under the collar literly and put everything up for sale and just happen to sell which would never happen again and kicked myself ever since!
With faster analog to digital converters and much faster Micro-controllers....
Not to mention tighter software implementations....that are upgradeable....to a point...
I am not going to knock any-ones detector.....but i ain't drinking the Analog ...KoolAID....any more...
Not only the DD coil and better ground coverage....the Discrimination GB caries over from the AM and a much wider dynamic range for GB resolution...
Its like knocking your... Grandpa ...or... your.... Grand Son......I ain't about ...that....If it works for you ..GB....But... technology has cured alot of the old
misconceptions of caned audio.... AND that's all I got to say about THAT....I did not sell any 1270's to the Sudanese Gold Rush for 3500.....not to mention
the spankings handed out at major national shoot outs...against all comers...the proof is in the pudding.....AS well as My personal testing..
Back to one thing we may agree on .... Kewl ole song .. BOOM BOOM BOOM... listen closely to the words ....".The way you whisper in my ear" ...
".When you talk that TALK !"...."gonna shoot you rite down" ...."rite off your feet....." gonna put you in my HOUSE..... the song for me describes how i feel
about my Detector 's and mine... relationship.....Haw... haw... haw....among other things.....
i would'nt use a 1270 for gold hunting, not practical, silver and coins yes well i'm very glad you like your modern up to date super duper ican do anything machines for the price of it i'd hope it cook dinner to but we can't have everything right hey all i can say is everybody has a opinion and opinions are like people there everywhere well at least as you said we can agree on we both like the song i wish you the very best of luck on your adventures and be sure to leave us peasants something left to find in the ground LOL!
