Well after a few years away from digging I started at it again in January and was really loving it finding a few goodies and more importantly getting out of the house and back to my favorite hobby. I have been mostly using the E trac for the last 5/6 years but the damn thing just kills my elbow and shoulder and would limit my swinging time. I have always been curious about the Deus so in march I picked one up from a fellow forum member and was spending as much time as I could with it then as luck would have it a few weeks later my back that I have had issues with for years decided to explode so now I find myself unable to dig. I am scheduled for surgery on the 30th of this month and surely will be unable to dig for some time. Just before my back went out I started sanitizing a spot in my backyard for a coin garden so all I have planted is a 6 inch penny and a 8 inch quarter so when I just cant stand it anymore I grab the Deus and go out there and take a few swipes at them. LOL. I enjoy keeping up with what all of you share on this forum thanks to all of you for that. I think when I get back out there I want to try some shallow fresh water hunting with the Deus and the water kit. Please keep the awesome finds and great stories coming. I will try to use the down time for research and learning so any must read books or posts would be great. Thanks again Happy Hunting.

Good luck with the surgery. Next week is 6 weeks since I had back surgery. Hopefully next week I’ll start physical therapy and they’ll tell me I can start detecting again. My Equinox 800 was delivered 4-5 weeks ago and hasn’t left the house. I’ve spent much of my recovery time in bed reading up on everyone’s experiences and finds withe their new machines. Can’t wait to give mine a try. Just do what the doctor says and you’ll be back at it before you know it.

Had back surgery around 25 years ago. The first thing i noticed when i woke up from surgery was the pain in my right leg was gone. Started Pt shortly thereafter and i still do some of the exercises. Follow the Doctors and Therapists orders and you will be back detecting after you heal. Just let your body tell you how much you can do. Believe me it will tell you. I can put in a few hours of detecting two or three times a week.

Thanks guys I just talked to the owner of my oldest/favorite permission and he informed that they will building a new house and tearing down the old one I hope the timing works out so that I may be there after scraping. Happy Hunting

Get well soon and I said a prayer for you.
