Just modified my second machine.

I added a mode change push button.

Mel, I have offten thought that would be a nice feature but alas I am not a techie / tool type person. Believe it or not my last name is Allen like Tim the Tool man, so that tells it all.
Where do you live, anywhere near Seattle?

If so, how do you keep the button totally waterproof?

Looks to be almost upside down as was stated earlier.

Here is my diving rig. Works like a dream.. and your arm is held in by the loop.

The push button is totally water proof and is IP67 rated to about 4ft. I would not use it for diving. The inside of the handle where the push button switch is mounted is partially filled with Epoxy, Silicon sealer and expanding foam, It should never leak. I still don't know what you mean by upside down.

Do you mean mounting it backwards? By mounting it this way it puts the Disc/PP switch in front where it's easier to get to.

Upside Down? First sign of a AM/PP, excal hunter for sure...........Great work Mel, ............ I'm jealous, .......and you have two!............thanks for the PM on the mod, keep up the Great work..........joe

Mel - you should consider a fee sheet to start you in business making mod's for other people's machines....
Parts cost plus your labor...could pull in some extra cash from your hobby...

I'd be interested in seeing the pricing on removable headphone mod, the pinpoint on the handle mod, etc.

Thanks
Barry

Hey Mel just out of curiosity...Does this take the knob out of use on the back of the unit? Also can it be made so that whichever mode you choose to run in with the knob setting, the button will initiate the opposite setting? For instance if I want to run in all metal and use the button to discriminate or if I am in heavy trash and want to run in disc and just check in AM??

Mel,

Could you show some pics of the mod inprogress? Would love to do this with my old Excalibur.

Thanks,

Ken
