I just stumbled upon this forum and wanted to say hi. Im 32 and have enjoyed metal detecting for about 3 years now. My first detector was a cheap bounty hunter but I did find some cool things with it. Just got my AT Pro this week from Kellyco. My first day out at the park with it I found a sterling silver Saint Francis medallion. I'll post a picture when I get around to putting it on my computer. Also I was wondering if the headphones that come with it are ok to use in the rain? I would probably wear a hood or something.

The A T Pro/Gold ranks just seem to continue to grow. Welcome aboard.

I use a little better pair of head phones that like the Garett ones are not water proof, but I have never had a problem with them hunting in a moderate drizzle for a couple hours or so. If you are wearing some kind of rain gear with a hood, I'm thinking you will be o. k. good luck! HH jim tn

Make yourself at home. Please do post your finds and please do comment on others. Metal detecting is one great hobby!

Cool! Welcome here to the 'Fellowship of the Ping'...Yeah, you will be alright using the stock land phones in the rain..like you said, take a few precautions if its really raining..or get a set of the Blue ones, or a water proof aftermarket set...
I keep a set of the Blues on my Pro, took and modified the plug on the stock Garrett phones and use them on another mfgs rig that is not waterproof, still, I've been out in some pretty decent rain with those stock ones with no ill effects...this Pro really ought to just come with the blues right out of the box, since wet work is its strong suit and all..good to see you, that silver medal is a great find! You are also young, which is good, you should have the strength and stamina to really out hunt us old guys...we will help you accomplish this if you need us!:clapping:
Mud.
