Just joined the forum only moments ago. I am brand new to the hobby (only about one week into it). Picked up what is called a lower grade detector from someone on c-list (it is the MPX digital), haven't seen many good reviews on it so far. But for the price I don't think I did badly (40 bucks). And I went into a field next to my house and in the first ten minutes I found two clad quarters and a 1900 british large penny.
But hi everyone, guess I've been bit by the treasure hunting bug now.

Welcome to the forum. Joe.

Welcome aboard. Since you're new here, I'll explain the rules. They are quite simple. You send me 30% of all your finds, and we allow you to post, read, chime in, etc.... I normally charge 40%, but .... I'm feeling generous today :)

On your first hunt you already found a coin over 100 yrs. old? Sweet.

Welcome to the forum. If the detector works for you... and it looks like it does, that's all that matters.

LOL yeah I couldn't believe finding a hundred year old coin too. I mean not gold or silver and foreign and only a penny, but still cool.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain"..... called Tom_in_CA....... Save up your 30% towards a better detector when finances allow and welcome to the forum ritehere, you are off to a great start. That MPX is a good starter but it sounds like you might not stay a starter for long........:clapping:

Nice finds and welcome to this wonderful addiction! Feel free to jump in and bussballz right along with the rest of us!
