I was the ONLY reviewer of the Lone Star Pro on metal detector reviews.net . It's at least as light as the Tesoro Compadre, and has tone ID as well as adjustable notch. I can search ALL DAY, as this thing is so light. For searchers who hate zincers, most share the tab/foil tone- but the visual ID is right on. In mild mineralization, it has some good depth. Found several coins at the 5" level with good audio. Pinpointing requires a slower sweep speed, as the target/signal response is slow. My " PC on a stick" is not bad for a starter unit and the weight factor is a startling welcome. I would have loved to seen a last mode memory, but setting it back only takes a few seconds. With the summer heat coming, this lightweight will be a welcome. The single 9v. battery with excellent life (with headphones) is an added plus- and was one of my gripes with the Tracker IV and it's dual batteries. All in all, it's remarkably close to higher priced units.
