Have fun, more to come.

Hi Andy,

I just ran across you post about the BH Platinum. I have owned two BH metal detectors before, and they offered more bang for the buck than a lot of the higher priced detectors. I now have a T2 and an F75, which I really like.

Have you used the Platinum, and if you have what do you think of the detector? I have always thought that an updated Time Ranger with bigger display and new
body would still be a very good machine even today. The main reason I sold my TR was because I had difficulty seeing the readout.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks, Bill T

I just got it yesterday and had only time to use it a little in my backyard and get familar with the settings and controls.

I will put it in some real world action today for a few hours. My very very very first impression is pretty good.

More later.....

I don't know. Problem is the manual does not show what frequency the detector uses. The coil connector is the same as on other Bounty Hunters.

I'm going to try the 4" Bounty Hunter coil today, maybe i get lucky and it works.

I'll let you know.....

Andy,NM

I tested the 4" Bounty Hunter nugget coil on the Platinum. It worked, but no depth and no ground balance. I think it has an other frequency as the other bounty hunters.

More later, I'm going tectin' now with the Platinum.

Andy

wow, that is surprising, if it is running at a different freq. you would think they would have changed the connectors
