I took the F75 with the stock coil over to a large fairgrounds in Pa. I have hunted the field here for the last six years with every high end detector made. It is not old, but used since the mid forties. I have found over 50 mercury dimes here and hundreds of wheats, but not much in the last year or so. I figured this spot would be a great test for the 75. I found a couple of wheats from 8 to 9 inches that the signal really locked on and I have no doubt that there is much more depth to this detector. They were mowing the field and setting up huge tents for a weekend dog show and the guy mowing said I had only an hour or so to hunt. I got a high tone nickle signal , but the tones were bouncing and the numbers were 27 to 28. It pinpointed at 8 inches and I finally got the target on my drop cloth after digging to 8 inches. I could not find it as it was something really small and with the aid of my probe, I located it. It was a gold crown and it came from an honest 8 inches.
The signal though bouncing was very loud and clear. It is only the second gold crown I have found and the first was only an inch or so deep. Also today I went to another park and got to dig some clad coins. There is nothing better to find a bunch of coins to help a person get comfortable with a detector. Today everything came together with the F75 and I now feel like I know what to look for when coin hunting. I just changed my first set of batteries and they lasted over 40 hours and thats how long it took me to get the F75 dialed in. I have had many detectors and I sometimes think I can take a detector out of the box and do well with it. Sometimes though, that is not the case. R.L.
