At this school I always hit for a quickie I decided to take the sniper coil. I've picked that thing clean. But today I went around the bleacher and equipment.
I couldn't believe what I missed all this time.
I don't know how I ever did without having The Sniper coil.
Best investment I ever made..

Happy Hunting

Yep! TRIPLED my finds with it. All the former spots I'd hunted all of a sudden became new areas again. Plus-- all the trashy places that no one wanted to hunt turned into fabulous places to hunt. And no one on the forum seemed too excited about it so I didn't post my finds-some even said it didn;t do anything great for them. I guess it was THE coil for my circumstances. Great finds. Congrats.

You 2 might be interested in a little trick that I discovered with the Sniper coil. If you are willing to hunt with out discrimination and want to get those coins that are either directly under metal play equipment or right next to it, hold your pinpoint button down and sweep under them. In the case of hitting targets right next to metal poles eta; hold down your pinpoint button and tilt your coil ever so slightly away from the pole. I have found that if you are careful, you can find targets less than an inch away from the pole! The reason is that the sniper coil is a coaxial coil, which means double shielded. As an experiment, connect the coil up to the Ace but off the stem. Hold down the pinpoint button and wave a coin or other piece of metal around the bottom, then the sides and finally above the top of the coil. This will help you to know where the field is being thrown out to. Because it's double shielded, you will notice that you have no signal to the side or above the coil. It can be very handy to know and you'll find that you can detect targets where very few other detectors can.

Thanks, Mick. I learned the trick of tilting the coil, but never thought of a/m mode. you can also notice the detection pattern by pinpointing without the pinpointing button=or just xing the target. The strongest signal will always be from the top center of the coil to a little past the bottom-so the bottom of the coil is NOT the part to put next to the pole.

Interesting point about just tilting the coil Slingshot. It's been a while since I've had the sniper coil so I can't remember whether I played around with that just tilting (probably did). Perhaps I ought to get one for the 1500. Mind you, I'm having a ball with the Scorcher coil, which also separates targets brilliantly.
