just got the cibola...

and was wondering if anybody used the brown 8 inch coil with the hole in the middle, on the cibola?
if so does it go as deep as the stock coil?

... or so I understand it. Different freq's and so on...
But Im with you - I love the ole "round and brown".

David

they make the 8 inch coil (brown and round) for the cibola.
i just like that coil better and was thinking of putting the stock coil up for trade for one.

I have one for my Tejon and like it. I also like the 10x5 wide scan on the Tejon.

did you loose any depth with the brown coil? dosent really matter, i just like it cause its easy to pinpoint and works good in school yards. i had a silver u-max at one time and it was the best coil i used there.

I also have the 10X5" for my tejon. Was woundering if you think it
gets any deeper than the stock coil? also what dis. settings do
you use for both levels of dis? diggercoins67

Diggercoins, I don't know if I got any more depth with the elliptical widescan coil. I just liked using it for the coverage. I usually set disc 1 at about the L in foil and disc 2 around the tab setting.

:detecting: Hi Gary,

The 8" brown coil will not work on the Cibola, the reason is the 8" brown coil is 10kHz and the Cibola operates at 14.3kHz. The 8" coil will work with the Silver U Max, Golden U Max, DeLeon and the Cortes which operate at 10kHz. I have a Vaquero and it is a great little detector the only difference between it and the Cibola is the manual ground balance. I have no doubt You will really like the Cibola detector. Get the 575 hot coil for the Cibola for trashy areas you will love it, great depth for a small coil.

Good Luck,
Bill G

yes they make a brown 8 inch concentric coil for the c,v,t,Lst
now im not trying to push this dealer, just using it for the picture,it will be the 2nd brown coil . you wil see it says for the c,v,t,Lst http://www.upstatedetectors.com/pages/tesoro-coils.htm
its about 1/2 way down the page the price is $103.20

and I noted that with the 'spoked' 8x9 coil I got a little better depth and performance. I could pinpoint every bit as well with the 8x9 as I could with the 8".

I think you'd be better served to just use the stock 8x9 on the Cibola, and if anything, get the new 5
