Just got the Ace 250

Ryan O'Shea

I just got one of these less than a month ago. Found silver twice the first week. http://ihatepulltabs.blogspot.com
This machine is awesome! It finds coins so often. When im in an area polluted with clad. I just set it to silver and gold. Because I can't take 2 stpes without a hit. Produces so many quarters its absurd. I have found loads of em. No pre 65 silver coins yet. But I havn't really hunted any old areas yet. I have found a few wheat cents. Some old 41 nickels. But, I have used it less than 10 hours. It rains to much here in Oregon. Its hard to get out as often as I would like.
I got permission to hunt on some old property, 1915. So, as soon as the rain stops. Im going to hit it up. Any tips for hunting for older coins and whatnot?

Thanks. I just did a few simple modifications to the 250 so I can get out and get hunting. Its been raining so much. I have not been able to go out. So tonight I added a homemade rain cover. So Im set and ready. Really hoping to find some cool stuff this week.

So what part of Oregon are you living?
I am at the mouth of the Cowlitz so dodging the rain is part of my life too.
A trip to the local boat top-shop had me walking out with a custom made rain bonnet for my Ace in twenty minutes time and ten dollars charge. For folks like us that live in rain country a rain cover is as essential as a coat with a hood.
Just saw another of your posts that mentions where you are based...Does get a bit wet there doesn't it??

Hey, yeah it does get a bit wet. Going to the boat shop is a really great idea. I made a rain cover, and a few other things since I was in the mood last night. There are pics here http://ihatepulltabs.blogspot.com/2010/03/ace-250-modification.html

Just used around the house stuff.

I am in Eugene. The emerald valley.
