The ATX works very well in that red soil. You are going to go DEEP! Looking forward to seeing your finds. If you have any questions, please ask.

[size=large]Ya might go to You-Tube and punch in NQ Explorers. A fella name of Warren does a good job of explaining and showing how and when to use the ATX in the goldfields of Australia. You'll enjoy his other vids also. He hunts with his wife Connie. If I could, I'd buy an ATX in a heartbeat. Just couldn't use it. But I'm sure my son and his bride to be would wear it out. Hope ya find the mother-lode with yous.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of the ATX!
There are many great thread on this forum about first time user hints and settings. You may want to search back at least a year ago when the detector was just being delivered to users.

One thing you should never forget to do each time just before you start detecting: is to Ground Balance the ATX.

Other settings are more forgiving. If you are using two ATXs in relatively close proximity you will also want to search for the best frequency, ONE machine at a time. I.e. turn one ATX on, GB it, set any other op conditions you want before turning on the SECOND ATX and then search for the best frequency for it along with the other settings.

May the ring of gold be in your ears and its glitter in your scoop!
