In the past I have run a Garrett 1500, so this is quite a change for me. I have read a lot (Operators Manual and reading Andy Sabisch's book) I would like to have some one on one help if I can find it. I live in Aberdeen, Ms. Someone from Columbus ,Tupelo or Etc. would be great for me. I have just read about a fellow that is having trouble at the beach. In early May, I will be in Panama Beach for a week so if there is someone around there that could assist me, that would be great! I would hate to spend a week without being to detect near the water. That is the trouble I have had with the Garrett1500. I will get oriented sooner or later but I am anxious as all get out to get going. So anyone that could help, let me know. Julian Walden

Don't anticipate problems before you meet them.

The Etrac is the best beach machine available.

Run sensible sensitivity levels consistent with a stable search.

Manual 25 should give you a reasonable depth, with wet sand stability.

Otherwise, Auto +3, but depth on coins could be limited to 8 to 10 inches.

Remember to noise balance.

Now get stuck in and learn for yourself what it's all about.

Good luck...............TheMarshall

From your statements, I am assuming that because of ground conditions that I won't be able to make a setup that will work on dry and wet sand. Maybe I would have to set up two different modes for this? I'm sorry but I am digesting this as fast as I can. I am a 65 year old diabetic on insulin for 36 years and I have trouble griping on to things these days. Thanks for all your help!!!!! Julian
