Just got my Vision, but what if?

I bought a used Vision but it came with no warranty information. It has a name it displays at boot-up. Heaven forbid something should go wrong, but am I just out of luck as far as any warranty should something happen? Can I change the current registered name if I have the password? Can I call White's and have it transferred?

The previous owner should have given you the password to change the owner information on the V and yes, the two year warranty is transferable. They should have signed the warranty transfer form as well. I think it is in the back of the owners manual.

All White

Thanks.

I called and got the password from the seller, but no manual with a transfer form.

Glad you got the password and don't forget to copy it where you won't lose it. The transfer form is not on the back of the manual. Call Whites. Rob

Can the password be changed or does the first one become permanent for that detector?

Just give us a call and we'll transfer the warranty - you will need the previous owner information for verification and the serial number. 800-547-6911

They will do it all for you by phone. When I purchased my V3 I called them up just to check on the serial number to make sure it was not stolen. She was ready to transfer the warranty and owner info before I even purchased it. I told her I was more comfortable waiting until I had the unit in my possession.

They also offered to send me the manual and DVD, but I declined, having already downloaded it.

DONE!

Very helpful and polite women on the other line took my info, actually updated my info because I was in the system from my DFX, and told me it had not been registered by the previous owner. It is now.

Not that I'm that concerned, but can you change the password on the detector, or is it there for life?

Now, if the weather would just cooperate, I'd go do some detecting.

You cannot change the password, so do write it down and store it in a safe place.
