Hi folks,

A little introduction, i'm from Delaware and primarily hunt older but very trashy sites that require quick recovery speed along with small coils in hopes of picking a few masked goodies and the Golden seems to have the response time i'm looking for. Many of the good targets are within 2" to 5" at some sites

I have the 5.75 coil and considering the 4" coil and curious if any of you trash hunters noticed enough difference to warrant the 4 ". Thanks for any response. HH Bill

I think you picked one of the best Tesoro has to offer. Its my favorite Tesoro for sure.

If I might suggest the 7" widescan instead of the 4" concentric since you already have the 5.75" The 4" coil does fine but it tends to overload a lot on the very shallow/surface trash. I find the 7" widescan doesn't overload as bad and slices through the trash just as good as the 4". The Golden already has a very good recovery spead and the widescans really bring it out.

Another thing you will like with the Golden is the way it handles steel bottle caps. If you flip the notch to Wide (doesn't matter where the notch width is set) it will cancel out 95% if the steel caps and any that still go through will give a harsh enough high tone that you can easily ignore them. The Golden is my number one pick for steel bottle cap infested sites.

Tones Rule :super:

Been wanting to try a Tesoro for a while now and the Golden just peaked my interest more than the others as i prefer to hunt tone rather than visual even on metered detectors.

I have an M6 and my favorite coil on that is the 5" DD EXcelerator and from the little bit of time i had to play with the Golden i think these two are going to be my one - two punch at the trashy sites. I actually find the tones on the Golden distinctive and quick enough for very good target separation.

Thanks for your response Mike and will surely check out the steel cap response.HH Bill
