I haven't used it on the ground yet but I can already tell I'm going to like it.

Hey, since it also came with a 12" super coil, does that make my M6 a M6-300 :yikes:

Maybe Sunday I'll get some ground time with it.

Hi Mike,
Are you planning on using the M6 to hunt the trashy sites where the Golden rummaged? I don't even use the 950 on the M6 let alone a 12" coil. Good Luck. HH Bill

Yeah, still trying to beat the Golden. Its been a hard task.

The machine that can do it has to have the right accessory coils, the right tone id, some way to ground balance, and normally some notch capability.

I'm going to see how the M6 measures up. Spent a long time looking at the tone frequencies before I decided to try one. Air tests are good so far and if it does well with the 6x10 I'll try the Bigfoot on it. If the Bigfoot doesn't work out then I'll try the 8x14 DD coils.

Wish it luck!

Mike

Well the M6 lacks any notching as you know but has a bit more target ID info vs the Golden and may boil down to how you like the 7 tones. I really wish the M6 had a manual GB option but the auto GB works fine. The 6"x10" coil is great for coverage but really prefer the 4.5"x7" and 5" EXcelerator coils when hunting trashy sites. The 5" EXcelerator coil has been the most productive coil on the M6 at my sites but seems your looking to use larger coils. I usually run 0 disc, listen to the tones and observe the VDI variations along with the target block strength as a last resort.Hunting trashy sites or any site where extreme measures are needed to defense the conditions can be very frustrating but also provide some hard fought rewards. Good Luck Mike. HH Bill
