Just got back from seeing my doctor, she is .........

General Ray

New member
very happy with me and I still remain her favorite diabetic patient

After running her three month test for avg or what ever they call that my blood pressure is running at normal, my blood sugar is running at normal and I have lost 25.6 pounds :yo:

The best thing about losing the weight is that I am not dieting, I just changed my diet and exercise now by walking, this past Sunday I walked 4 miles in some pretty warm temps and it did not brother me, during the week I hit the treadmill for three miles at home and watch the Fox channel ;).

At first I was a little disappointed with myself for not losing more weight since my last doctor's visit but my doctor told me the facts, she said Ray, you are losing the pounds every time you come in for your check up, that's better then staying pat or gaining weight, if all my patients did as good as you are doing I would have to find another line of work, trust me Ray, at your age 54, you are doing better then I could have hoped for as your doctor

I love her :inlove: .........

She has cut my diabetic pill dose in half and thinks she may be able to cut me lose from the meds all together if I keep doing well and dropping the weight and eating the right diet, she said we will have to see how the next 4 months go first with half the pill dose seeing how diabetes has shown it's face in my family's history before, my mother passed away from it, we'll see, my next appointment is in 4 months.

I'm thinking about pushing the limits this weekend for me, thinking about a 6 mile walk which would take me about two hours and maybe 5 or 10 minutes at a steady pace but not to fast, just a steady pace to burn the Cal's and get that exercise then have my once a week rib eye steak and still lose the pounds

My mom and dad were diabetics...but fortunately none of us 7 children have been afflicted with diabetes.....so far.

Keep up the good work....that regimen takes a lot of determination!
