Got up early and read the forums...stepped outside, looked at all the deep snow and thought WTH..drove on over to the local ski hill for my first hunt of the year![attachment 308885 snow4.jpg]
Bagged the coil on the freshly modified 70 and went in... sens 71, DPtones...base was freshly groomed, probably 3' deep...way too deep to get them all, in fact, a guy does not really want to go any deeper than 8" on account is just too tough chipping through ice for a penny...[attachment 308886 snow3.jpg]
Hit a few coins and a buckle which appears to be from off a Pilgrims shoe, probably 17 century from the looks of it, not sure though, I'm not an expert.:rofl:..
Then I wandered over to the hockey rink and saw all these emptys, so I peeled the bag off the coil and snatched them up...Yippee! One was Full![attachment 308887 snow2.jpg]

So I headed home...only there for 30 minutes and gone from the Forum about an hour, left here at 6 and home by 7...made a @ dollar between the cans and clad...I'll put that buckle up on Ebay and see what I can get for it, it has to be pretty rare to find a 17th century Pilgrims Shoe buckle on a ski hill I would think?.....I better also have a go at that beer before the wife wakes up! Felt good to get out for a bit and refresh the feeling a fellow gets hunting with these amazing machines! And I will say this, drinking a wild found fresh drop icy cold beer before 8am is really something special! It lets you know, no matter what, everythings gonna be alright!:beers: [attachment 308888 snow1.jpg]

Huckleberry Finless ran just like normal!...felt good and light and balanced, no cable hanging out, with the fresh groomed snow a guy could really sling it right on the deck and work the whole prime drop area fast and furiously, I could see my tracks and cover it good quickly...problem with snow is its like performing an 'air test'..theres no GB numbers on snow...also, the coin targets are not always laying flat...anyway, we are expecting a major warm up this week..so I figured I better get in at least One snow hunt this season....seems the crowd has gotten a bit cheaper this year? Not complaining, but One 12oz Busch?....that one year I found a couple of large full cans of Fosters!:buds:
Mud .

Hey, they found that 5,300 year old Otzi guy on a hillside in the alps. You just never know with snow.

Keep looking - the rest of the pilgrim may be there.

That beer looks really cold! Any hunt is better than no hunt.
