I just got a whites vision in trade. I know that the v3 was initially called the vision. are there any real differences between them? i have only used it for about 45 min today, so don't really have an opinion on it yet. Very diff than using my "beep and Dig" Vaquero!

Depends if the Vision had the updates to version 1.3 which was the last update. All were free. If it had them they are the same.

You will get 8 new features and it will only cost you $125. You will also get a new pod (control panel & screen). The early pods have a tendency for the screws to become stripped and the innards can become exposed.

Best $125.00 you'll spend. I too have a "Vision" box and check out a lot of different V3i's....same. I really enjoy having the original Vision silk screening too.

Yeah i think i got a really good deal on it. the guy only had about 30 min of use on it, not a scratch anywhere. i just checked the version and it is a 1.1. are there any other changes besides to the menu? how long does it take to get it back?

There are many new features like Stereo Mixed Mode, Polar Plot screen, Loop Selection and more!

I had mine back in a week. I sent it to the nearest service center.

People need to know their detector. The V3 is a great unit as is. Magic actually preferred his V3 over his V3i. The V3i seems to be more stable but many people with the V3 are doing great already. Before the upgrade people were happy with their units.

My V3 never had a problem with the pod screws and very few did. It was a early production thing.
So far I haven't had to use the salt ground option.
I don't use any of the analysis screens. I don't need them.
I don't use the on board manual, as I know my detector, and this feature doesn't improve performance.
I only need the English language so I don't use that feature.
Most people don't use mixed mode so they won't use the new stereo mixed mode either. I do use this.
The coil matching feature is great, I like it. Some people I hunt with don't pay that much attention to this feature.

Is it a great upgrade, yes indeed. Do I have it yes. With the type of less extreme hunting some people do will they notice the difference, I'm not sure. With the type of hunting some hunting that many people do, do they even need the capabilities of a V3, NO. It was like when I had my MXT, I knew people who never used the relic or prospecting mode, never, so they might as well have had an M6.

If you want or need the features get it. If you are not having problems and are doing well, ????? Then it is up to you.
