Just got a White GM/4B Gold master---any tricks to know about it?

I just picked this up used 4B. Read the manual and went out testing it out. Having a tricky time ground balancing it. Seems to go off loud when I hop the loop up and down. The Gain is turned between 2 and plus 3 with little difference. adjusted the threshold to a faint whisper. Seems to definitely go off on small pieces of test aluminum foil the size of a postage stamp. What I'm not sure about is the Non Iron to Iron identifier needle. It does not seem to work for the initial battery test, I have noticed to trigger toggle for identifying probability of iron trigger is a 3 way switch. How exactly do you use this cause it doesn't move when I pull it in over a tin can or a piece of alum foil????

Has any one used this model before??

I think I figured it out. Its called read the manual more than once. It works.

Another thing you may want to do is find a DD coil if it doesn't have one on it already.
