get to start working for the temp agency at a heat treating company. It is 'long term' work and duh I forgot to ask what it is there I will be doing. Its about 10 miles away - one way - at $7.75 an hour and starts on Monday (Mon - Fri 7 am to 3 pm - with possibility of lots of OT). Since the house has yet to be made an offer on I said I'd be there on Monday.
God has provided for me once again because for this job I needed steel toed boots which I didn't have until just a few days ago. We happened to stop at a thrift shop and just as we were getting ready to head for the cash registers I noticed a pair of 'chukah' (shorty) boots that looked brand new except for the laces - the tips were cut off of them. Picked up the boots and they were my size. Inside looks like the outside - never worn. Then I notice on the boot it says "Steel Toed". Coincidence? I don't think so. The price? $5.99 for the pair!
God did more than meet my need. They are comfortable and for $1 I bought a pair of new laces for them. I called the temp agency almost as soon as I got the boots and told them I now have steel toed boots if that will help in placing me somewhere. They had asked me before if I had those boots and I said no and missed an opportunity to work full time somewhere. Figured someone else got the position.
That is great news and God gets the glory for it all. After sitting without work for over a week our finances were getting too tight. The time off did help in getting the house ready for the open houses we have held. There might be a couple 'potential' buyers but no one has called to say any offer has been made.
Having the time off too let me get a couple hunts in. Did recover a sterling silver ring with a 'Celtic' knot design to it, a sterling silver bracelet, a kid's ring, a "Princess" key ring with a house key attached, an Oldmosbile key fob, a small book shaped charm - black with a cross and word Bible in gold on it and probably combined about $10 in clad plus a '44 and a '46 Wheatie.

Sorry I haven't been around much but making repairs, painting, doing drywall, etc., to get the house ready for open houses has kept me pretty busy and exhausted.
BTW I am looking for a copy of a book that is no longer in print. The author is Wallace Chandler and it is something like "Advanced Shallow Water Hunting (or maybe Detecting) with the Fisher 1280x".
Anyone know where I can get one let me know please. Amazing that the author who has passed away a couple years back lived right here in Lansing. He was in many of the Charles Garrett detecting books and spent many years detecting the Lansing area yet the local library doesn't even have a copy of his book. So if you know where I can get one be sure to let me know.
Oh a prayer for the group of kid's who persist in doing what they want, where they want and when they want that have been harassing ourselves and our neighbors. Pray they find Jesus and that their 'harrassing' ceases and desists immediately. Thanks all.
May God bless each and everyone of you and that He meets your needs as He is more than capable of doing - and exceeding.
