Just got a New Camera - Could Use Some Advise

Picked up a Canon S3 yesterday to replace my 4 year old 1.3mp camera. Seems to have all that I require.

It came with a 16 and 512 SD card but I know I'll need another card (at least) but I'm not sure which one. Priced them at Sam's and Wal-Mart and the price for 1gb cards was from $30 to $50. I think speed has something to do with the price difference. I would like to try the movie mode on the S3 so I think I want a fast 1gb card but haven't a clue on the make and model. Could use some advise on this - not looking for the cheapest but rather the best.

Also, do 2gb cards work in this camera? Saw a reference in the manual to a size limit of 1gb for movies.

I shoot with the same camera. I have a regular 1 gig. card and a ultra fast 1 gig. card. I don't see any difference in the processing of the pictures or movies between them. If you need any help with the camera, just ask away.

I could be wrong but the difference with FAST and ULTRA FAST is the downloading of the pictures into the computer...imho one gig for pictures is more than enough and if you wanna take movies get a camcorder...the one we got as a gift takes movies AND takes pictures when the card is in there. The quality of the pictures is adequate...i think its only 1.7mgbites
