I just got a new to me G2. Im going to put it through it's paces.

I hope so. It's light as a feather. The only thing I have hunted with tjat light was a Tosoro.

The G2 with the 5 inch DD coil is second to none in real trashy sites.

Well I got it out today & the machine surprised me. I dug some relics with it. It was stable even at wide open. I didn't use it until the end of the day when I got tired of swinging my CZ3D here is the relics I found today. I'm going out tomorrow & going to use it exclusively. HH Tim

Three-ringers and musket balls! NICE finds. Looks like a few of those musket balls had to be pulled back out of the gun (the "holes" I think are from a rod with a threaded tip that gets inserted into the barrel to pull out lead...not sure).

ANYWAY, nice digs. YES, these are really under-rated machines IMO. Sneaky good. Like you mentioned, light, VERY stable (can be run wide open most times), and deeper than expected. If you want an extra inch or two of depth, and are in a spot where you could do it -- try running all-metals. The unit is SURPRISINGLY deep in all-metal mode. I can hit a 12" quarter in my test garden (the deepest one I have) in all-metal mode, with the 11" DD coil, when the ground is damp...and that's something even my Minelab Explorer SE Pro can't do...:surprised:
