well guys from what i hear from one of my buddies around here the 3khz coil is pretty good! so i sold my garrett pro-pointer, and bought myself a almost like new one for $90.00. when i get it from the mail and weather permits:look: i will take it to my "hunted out spot" and a few other spots where i know some old beauties are! today we got 3 inches of snow so it could be awhile, but i will take it out when i get the chance! any of you had a bunch of luck with the 3khz coil? i know one of my friends here has:thumbup: he knows who he is:clapping: anyways i wanna hear some of your guys reviews on it!:detecting:

thanks for looking, weston

I also want one. Briefly as Digger(Randy) explains put the LF in(C & J Mode) All Metal(I would prefer using Pattern 1 if that wouldn't ruin the iron harmonics) with Multiple Tones(99 Tones) and listen for the tell tale tone and audio sound harmonics of junk iron. There is no problem with small-tiny iron junk, it is larger iron pieces that pose a problem and usually show up as non-ferrous good targets on the MF and HF coils that the LF identifies much better.

As I've said for several years, I think the 3 kHz coil is the best choice for coins in moderately mineralized soil. Do a search for 3 kHz on this forum and you'll see lots of posts. HH Randy

Bought mine about 2 months ago and love it. good luck.

Hallo Digger,
and what do you think, which is the best coil for coinshooting in more mineralised soil (around 15) ? It is possible to use 3 kHz yet or is better choice DD coil 7,5 or even 18,75 kHz ?
