Went out Sunday for a few hours to a local elementary school. Perfect day for hunting, sunny a little breeze and about 70 degrees. After poking around the usual playground equipment, I decided to wander out into the grassy area of the playground (and dang glad I did) The days total was 8 Quarters, 10 Dimes, 4 Nickels and 25 Pennies. Now here's the kicker....keep in mind this school has only been around for about 50-60 yrs. The very first coin I found was a 1900 Barber Dime!!! (and yes I did the happy Silver dance) <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> It was only bout a inch down and the only thing I can think of is either there was some old houses there at one time that was tore down for the school to be built or some kid swiped it from dads collection for Show N Tell. The front side is in decent shape but the back is pretty worn. All in all not bad for bout 3 hrs of hunting. Oh one more thing, got two hits that had 4 Pennies in one hole and the other had a Quarter,Dime and Nickel in the other. The 2500 handled it pretty good for multiple coins

Not bad for an elemetary school. Need to take my 2500 to a few. That dime would have made my day for sure. It does make you wonder if it was a kid or if someone missed it by that much. Hope you find some more and maybe show a picture.

A lot of newer places produce older coins due to older landfill being dumped there at time of construction.
