Just getting back detecting after two years off due to fractured back vertebrae

It's been two years since I detected because of an accident. I still have my old Fisher CZ-70 Pro and a Minelab Elite. I think it's time for me to upgrade. Before my accident, I had 30 years experience detecting and consider myself
a hard working, experienced detectorist. Over the years I've used most of the top of the line detectors with good success. I now need recommendations on the one detector I should purchase. I coin/jewelry hunt and about two weeks out of the year I hunt the
salt beaches. Looking for a deep machine so that I could hunt over some of my so called areaas. I really need your help.
Dave in N.East Penna.

The F-70 & F-75 are so light you can go for HOURS without any arm/shoulder fatigue.
I've not used the F-70, but the F-75 will hunt with and exceed any high end unit out there.:detecting:

If you want to be able to hunt salt beaches you will need the adjustable GB capability of the F75.

Hey Scully,

The manual says the F70 will GB from ferrite to salt. Please explain.

I do plan on trying it at the beach however with the cost of fuel and the heat as hot as it is now, its not a priority.

You need to be able to manually adjust the GB for salt to around 4 to 7; unless you have something
that you can carry and use the fast grab over, it will be DIFFICULT.

With the F75 you have that capability. You wont be able to adjust it slightly positive or slightly negative. Because of all the options, the F-75 would be a better choice, in my opinion.

If it GBs at the beach as well as it does here inland, I will be happy. I need to get to the beach to see how it does, but hate to bring two detectors in the event one wont handle the salt well enough and then end up leaving one in the car.

"The internal computer can only cancel salt water in the Autotune mode."

It also states that IF there is difficulty GBing in the Dsic mode, Swith to Autotune, GB and then switch back. It states the GB range is restricted in the Disc mode to assure accuracy orf NOT GBing to objects in the soil.

And if you know you are on the beach or some other harsh area, we MUST switch to All Metal, then GB and then switch back to Disc mode. If we dont know its bad or harsh, it wont allow us to GB in disc anyways, thats a clue. Then switch to all metal and GB and then go back to disc.

I think, but of course dont know till I go to the beach myself, but the process or procedure makes good sense to me. And as long as it can grab it, it may be better than allowing someone to do it manually as the beach changes very often. A quick grab is all it needs. Then again, some folks struggle with manual GB, so who is to say which one is more effective? Time will tell.
