Just found this today in the WM10

Sand lots of sand, it poured out of it. I have always covered my speakers on the machine that have them but hadn't though of the WM10 wireless. Today after a couple beach hunts I found the unit filled with sand either from blowing or from the location of my finds bag.
May have been talked about already but I just thought to mention it!

Good point BC. I put mine in a regular cell phone protector I got at a flea market and it works very well. Keeps that moist salty air from getting inside. Maybe a baggie or something would be better than nothing until you can find a more permanent fix. A small Otter box may be the ticket. Thanks for posting. Have you been to the new boardwalk? Looked like a lot of depositors hanging out there. HH :minelab:

I wear mine in a shirt pocket and if there is any potential for dampness I put it in a ziplock with a rubber band around the wire area. Never had anything in it except some sweat that I am aware of.

To clean simply remove the 4 screws unplug each the battery and speaker. You can wash the plastic parts and use canned air for the PC Board, reassemble. I used black electrical tape to cover the speaker.
The beach's are still pretty trashed they look clean from the top but just under the sand there is just about anything metal. The 3030 does real well to pick though the trash. But still every swing bring 10 or more tones/chips and bangs.
