Just found this bottle/can dump

At an old homesite that dates back to the mid 1800's. This bottle dump is huge. I haven't reached the real old stuff in there yet. Bit since I am brand new to bottle collectiong, I was wondering if I have anything worth collecting in this group of bottles that I dug today. I ran into alot of blue glass shards from old mason jars. I am, trying to be real careful. One of these bottles is an old Sarsaparillo bottle from the Hood Co. I think. Anyway, thanks for your feedack.

Looks like you have some good potential at that site. Embossed labels & cork tops are collectible and where the value begins to increase. Green plate looks depression era to me. Some of those clear bottles may turn lavendar in sunlight.

Check the dirt w you MD when your digging. I've got a few coins that way and I don't dig bottles very often.

I will chck the hole with my detetctor. ai went and dug some older cork top bottels yaterday and also found one of those little leather buckles, like for a harness strap oa something.. My eyes stay open for silver, This bottle dump goes back to the 1820's probably. I just havn't hit the old stff yet.

Glad YOU found it. Over the years Ive stumbled across a few but unfortunately apparently sometimes so did some of the local teens. I hate it when their apparent mission then becomes to break and crush every single bottle, that kills me. CO
