Just for fun. A guessing game.

So do you think we will see a winter reveal of Garrett's new Top Of The Line machine? We all have heard that the 1500 is being taken off the market, and it's brothers and sisters are also a little long in the tooth { upgrade wise}. I still feel Garrett will bring back the Master Hunter name. I hope they also keep the dramatic reveal like the AT-Gold. I remember in the late 90's right before the GTI 2000 came out, there was these adverts with rays of lights coming out of the clouds with only two words in the type. "It's Coming". The relic and Gold Hunters got their two new toys with the AT series. I want to see Garrett's next ' truly do-it-all" machine continue the waterproof to 10 feet design.

I'm hoping for an updated imaging machine that's waterproof to at least 10 feet. Saving my pennies for the new imaging machine!!

Honestly, I don't know. I figured it'd be next fall before they came out with anything new, due to the popularity of the Pro and Gold. Their taking the 1500 off the list makes me wonder. I doubt it would be released before Christmas. Not enough time to build suspense. Possibly a late winter/early spring release. I could see the 1500 becoming like an AT Imagining, while the 2500 a separate top of the line. I don't know if that's what they'll do, but it is what I'd do.

Sure would like to see Garrett's come out with a waterproof pinpointer. Just got an AT-Pro and really like it. I would hate to get a propointer and silicone it up like aquachigger, and then they come out with a waterproof one a month or two later. I'm no genius, but it looks like if you were manufacturing waterproof md's....you would be missing out on a good part of the market by not manufacturing a waterproof pinpointer. OK...got that off my chest...lol. Keep up the good work Garrett's!

It sure would be fun to be a mouse in the corner at their production/planning meetings! I would think just from looking in from the outside, they have adjusted manpower and mfg to meet the demand of the AT series. Moparalph is probably right, a waterproof pinpointer is a no brainer, easy enough to do. I would think the real money is in their Security division of products, and the easiest with no warrantee issues and high profit are their gold pans, classifiers etc, made out of plastic. If all they do this year is focus on "blocking and tackling" distribution management, parts sourcing, etc. they have an awesome reputation for taking care of the customer, but when companies get busy, sometimes they lose that focus, so Garrett, please dont!...the marketing is killer, great product/price, and these forums are a HUGE part of marketing, just from the loyal and helpful fan base here..a really well run and managed company.

We used to sit around and ask if anyone on management sees a "planet killer"...meaning a situation or competitor that could put us out of business..I dont see any planet killers for Garrett.

I could see a at propointer. I think, this year, we'll see a new imaging detector this spring, to replace the 1500. That's my take on it, with a possible replacement for the 2500 either Fall or next year.

The main question is, who'll come out with something new, and more affordable than a Minelab, first. It's a race between Garrett and First Texas. I want detectors from both, so I don't don't care who's first. (Insert Abbott and Costello reference here.)
