Just ended 3 months hunting along the Gulf.

My 8th season since retirement. Undoubtedly the best season I've had down there. Probably due to the huge storm suffered last fall. Anyway scored a 10k modest diamond ring & a 6.6 gram 14 k pendant. But to to keep a guy interested averaged 500 coins worth $40 a month. Mostly surf line & wading. Had a great opportunity and was able to take it. Everything wasn't all roses though. Many times conditions were so sanded in , everywhere was buried. Three buddies I hunt with had some very good hunting also. Little nugget. My last month due to shoulder stiffness I bought a Headhunter Pirate Pro. All controls in the phones. Nothing to swing but the shaft and 8" coil. It's a 3.4KHz Vlf. But in the mild waters I hunted it was darn near silent. It was deep enough cause I kept it in hard sand areas, mostly. Little bugger didn't find anything my other machines couldn't, But I was able to hunt longer cause of the way it's built.
Strictly a beep & dig with discrimination, sensitivity and volume. Truthfully, I bought it as a backup. But due to excellent hunting conditions, I used it solely.
So no big record for gold / silver but 6 stainless rings. In the past would have been gold mostly. Well can't have it all.
