I POSTED THIS FIND THE OTHER DAY. I AM POSTING A PICTURE OF IT BEFORE AND AFTER I GOT IT BACK IN SHAPE. SOME SAID IT WAS PART OF A OLD CLOCK (IT MAY BE) BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY HOLES IN IT WHERE IT WOULD MOUNT INSIDE OF A CLOCK. IT IS 3 1/2" LONG AND 3" WIDE. MAYBE SOMEONE COULD TELL WHAT IT MIGHT BE NOW THAT IT IS NOT ALL MESSED UP. ANY HELP WITH WHAT IT IS AND MAYBE SOME DATE OF THIS ITEM. IF IT IS NOT IN THE RIGHT TIME PERIOD THEN I DON'T NEED TO GO BACK TO THE SITE. THANKS ALABEAR

The shape reminds me of the laminates in an electric transformer.. Whats it made of?

With the small area in the middle it looks like a buckle. The recessed area would hold the arm that slides through the hole.

still clock innards.

It's a belt buckle, take it from a seamstress, have used alot of them. It is part of a two part buckle and can be covered with matching material for a dress and probably fit inside a part held the material in place. The narrow part in the middle was for the metal rod that went in the eye on the belt.
