Just curious, where do you folks buy your photo equipment? ................

I wonder how many purchase camera gear on eBay or Craig's List, and possibly from one of the large NYC on line camera stores. Let us know where you shop and why. Kelley (Texas) :)

B & H, New York.

No tax and lots of times, no shipping cost, shipped from New York to Texas. Great service and they have a 30 day return policy on cameras. Tried a Sony DSC WX150, didn't work for me, returned it for a full refund, bought Sony DSC RX100 instead.

most of my cameras have been bought from private parties or the newspaper and my sony was a Craigslist purchase...my Nikon FE was from myh dentist and my Asahi Spotmatic from the newspaper, my Canon S3 was from Craigslist (out of town person)...I feel comfortable buying from private parties
so far so good...i think ive paid fair price for all of them.
My favorite camera was my SRT 101 (Minolta) bought at the PX in Chu Lai on one my rare visits there

some great pictures. I replaced it with a Canon SX10is which I still have. One of my favorite cameras was also the Minolta SRT 101, the last film camera that I owned. I sold it and bought my first digital camera with the money. I have to operate on a budget and usually have to buy used equipment, and so far I have been lucky and have not been burned. My folks gave me this camera when I graduated from high school. I still have the camera and will never sell it. I took lots of pictures with it, used it to take pictures of my friends and their horses. Those were some fun times. Kelley (Texas) :)

if you got it as a youngster it probably uses 120 film....right? or something else

Were 35mm not common when you grew up? I remember my grandparents using a 120 film camera, and I think my Uncle Doc also used a roll film 120 camera but not sure. My father always used a square, black colored 35mm, was called a Argus C3 or something like that. I don't remember it being a hobby for anyone, just took pictures for special events like Christmas, Easter, family reunions and etc. It never became a hobby for me until I entered college in the late 1960's. It was a on again, off again hobby over the years. Kelley (Texas) :)

I only saw family members using 35mm in the mid-late 60's when it was starting to appeal to the public...before that i think it was the 120 and 620 film camera....one of my other hobbies is collecting film cameras ...i do have a C3 also known as the "Brick"...and yes it was a 35mm camera...
ill have to post a couple pictures of my cameras..i probably have 10+ of them and the various size bulbs that were used for flash
