Just Curious?What are the Time Rangers with the antenna and sight s on top of the units used for?

These Time Rangers are just a control box with this antenna and red sight gauge no rod assembles or coils. What are these units used for, and what mods? Again just curious. Thanks
 
Hi Ron,

Very interesting! Where did you come across these? What you have is the original version of the Time Ranger, missing the coil and rod. The antenna was supposed to tune out interference and the LED lit up when the ground got bad.

Ed,I saw one on Ebay the guy said it powered up.The box sold for a little over a hundred dollars.I figured someone tried to make one of those long distance gold locator's.Thanks you answered my question I didn't realize they had so many versions of the Time Ranger interesting.
