Just Curious....How Many Here Use Rechargeable Batteries In Their Metal Detectors?

I detect often, so all my units use rechargeables. I save so much $$$ using them. I just can't imagine going to Costco often to buy alkaline batteries, then just throwing them in the garbage. What are your thoughts?

I used to use them all the time. Then when I used another machine it needed 12 volts. When I used rechargeable batteries in it , it would indicate I had a low battery . When I switched to regular alkaline batteries it did not indicate low battery. Rechargeable 8 x 1.2 volts = 9.6 volts, Alkaline 8 x 1.5 volts = 12 volts made a difference .
I think Garrett metal detectors will be able to run on them .

I used to use them when I metal detected more frequently, but since I don't go much anymore, I just use the throw away type batteries. Hoped to hit the river at daybreak this morning, but circumstances beyond my control sent me to town and got lots of errands to run.

I use rechargeables most of the time but have noticed I seem to get better hits using 1.5s. Does anyone know of a 1.5 rechargeable.?

I have tried this and it works. If you recharge AAs . When you buy a decent battery the mahouts be 1.5 volts. When you recharge the only get to 1.2.v.

I believe it was suggested at one not to use Lopo batteries.

Guys let me know if you you have better results. Oh, Imdo use rechargeables in my Garrett pinpointed always.
